About Ratio Calculation

A ratio is a quantitative relationship between two numbers showing how many times the first number contains the second.

To calculate a ratio:

1. Divide both numbers by their greatest common divisor (GCD)
2. Express the result as "A:B" where A and B are the simplified values

Example: For values 12 and 8, the GCD is 4. 12÷4=3, 8÷4=2. The ratio is 3:2.

Ratios are used in many fields including mathematics, cooking, finance, and design.
